Waycross College is accepting applications for the position of:
INSTRUCTOR OR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF COMPUTER SCIENCE
The Division of Sciences offers courses in computer applications and computer programming. A candidate should be prepared to teach all of these courses.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Master's degree in computer science or the equivalent; must have eighteen graduate semester hours (twenty-seven quarter hours) in computer science.
- Primary interest in and firm commitment to the teaching/learning process in the two-year college.
- Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Teach 14-16 hour course load each semester (four or five courses), some of which will be at night and/or off-campus.
- Fulfill other faculty responsibilities such as committee work, academic advisement, and department/division planning, development, and assessment.
- Keep 2 hours per day (10 hours per week) of office hours.
- Participate in college activities, community activities, and professional development activities.
- Responsible for tutorial duties in the computer lab.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Chair.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of the University System of Georgia and Waycross College.
- Report to the Chairperson of the Division of Sciences.
This nine-month, tenure-track position is available beginning August 1, 2007. Salary and rank are dependent upon education and experience. Applicants must possess existing legal authorization to work in the United States.
